Application for Authorisation for a Temporary Stay (MVV)
Who is this form for?
Individuals with citizenship of countries in Africa, the Middle East, Asia, South and Central America and the Caribbean who wish to work or wish to stay longer than three months on Bonaire, St. Eustatius or Saba. An MVV must be applied for prior to entry.
Why this form?
An MVV can be applied for by yourself or by a reference (an employer or first-degree relative living on the island). A sponsor must be authorised by the applicant. If you submit the MVV application yourself, you must leave the island within eight days and await the decision in your country of origin.
What documents should I enclose?
Depending on the purpose for which your permit is requested, documents must be submitted and forms filled out. These are listed on the document list on the application form.
Where do I submit my form?
You can submit your application in person at one of the IND-unit Caribbean Netherlands offices. To submit an application you need to make an appointment in advance. Look for the contact information and opening hours of all IND offices on the contact page.
What happens to my application?
If you have submitted your application in person to one of the offices of the IND-unit Caribbean Netherlands and your application is complete, your application will be processed. If your application is not complete, it cannot be assessed. You will receive written notice once your application has been decided on. Please take a handling period of up to three months into account. The IND aims to complete it within two months if your application is complete.
What if my application has been approved?
If your MVV application is approved, you must enter Bonaire, St. Eustatius or Saba within three months of receipt of your MVV. Within three days of entry, you must apply at one of the IND-Caribbean Netherlands offices for a residence permit for the residence purpose for which the MVV has been issued.
