Draw dates

After the closing of the period for the submission of applications, an independent draw will take place through the civil-law notary. The draw takes place in three rounds.

• Round 1

Based on the Overview of available Scholarships per country (island), the fixed number of places are distributed based on geographical location, and the level of the educational institution.

• Round 2

The remaining grant amount after the first round of the draw is distributed to the students who were not selected in the first round, who are enrolled at one of the participating educational institutions in Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, and St. Maarten, and who apply for the Kingdom Scholarship for a study or internship exchange in the Caribbean region.

• Round 3

The remaining grant amount available after the first and second rounds of the draw is distributed to the students eliminated in the first and second rounds.

The rounds of the draw via the civil-law notary take place in the following periods:

• Between 15 May and 31 May 2024 for an internship or study exchange starting between 1 September 2024 and 31 October 2024 (study exchange to St. Maarten starting on 1 August 2024)
• Between 15 October and 31 October 2024 for an internship or study exchange starting between 1 February 2025 and 31 March 2025 (study exchange to St. Maarten starting on 15 January 2025)
• Between 15 May and 31 May 2025 for an internship or study exchange starting between 1 September 2024 and 31 October 2025 (study exchange to St. Maarten starting on 1 August 2025)
• Between 15 October and 31 October 2025 for an internship or study exchange starting between 1 February 2026 and 31 March 2026 (study exchange to St. Maarten starting on 15 January 2026)

Within four weeks after the above dates, all students who submitted an application will receive a decision on the acceptance or rejection of their application based on the draw.

Between 50 and 60 Kingdom Scholarships are made available to students each semester. See the Q&As for this.
