Information about the validity and cancellation of the work permit
The work that the employee is allowed to do is stated in the work permit. You are not permitted to use the employee for any other work.
Term of validity
The work permit is issued for a period of 1 year. After that you can apply for a new permit, and your application will be assessed again. The assessment is the same as that for the first application. It is therefore possible that a subsequent work permit will not be granted because local workers are now available.
Termination of the employment contract
If the work is ended before the work permit expires, e.g. because you have gone bankrupt or the employment contract has been terminated, you as an employer must report this within two weeks. In that case the work permit will be revoked. For this purpose you will need to contact the work permits department of the SZW unit. Call 715-8888, send an email to workpermits@rijksdienstcn.com or go to the IND counter.
If the employee concerned has lost the job for reasons beyond his or her control, it is also possible for another employer to take over the work permit. In this case you should contact the Labour Affairs department. You can go to the Labour Affairs department of the SZW unit during consulting hours, call 715-8888 or send an email to arbeidszaken@rijksdienstcn.com.
