Multidisciplinary control against undermining through RIEC CN partnership
On Wednesday the 12th of March, multidisciplinary control were carried out in the morning hours at two locations on the Kaya Industria on Bonaire at a retail company. These were in connection with possible violations based on the laws and regulations. The multidisciplinary control was used to check whether the persons present at these locations were in possession of the mandatory documents and other laws and regulations of the various chain partners were checked.

During the check, various indications were found. Possible violations of other laws and regulations are also being further investigated by the different partners.
The following partners participated in these checks: Labour Inspectorate CN, The Dutch Caribbean Police Force, Royal Netherlands Marechaussee, Immigration and Naturalization Service CN, Supervision & Enforcement Directorate O.L.B. in collaboration with the Regional Information and Expertise Centre Caribbean Netherlands (RIEC CN).
The RIEC CN partnership plays a crucial role in tackling undermining within the Caribbean Netherlands. Through cooperation and information sharing between different agencies, the effectiveness of controls and interventions is increased, with the aim of safeguarding and enhancing the security and integrity of the Caribbean Netherlands. In addition, awareness and prevention can be worked on together.
*Criminals use legal companies and services for illegal activities. As a result, standards fade, and the feeling of safety and quality of life decreases. This effect is also called undermining.
