What is de role of the Guardianship Council in family supervision (OTS) cases?
The task of the Youth Care CN is to conduct investigations and issue advice/recommendations to the juvenile court. The Youth Care CN then has no further role in the case. If the juvenile court issues a family supervision order, the case is then transferred to Youth Care CN and a family supervisor is assigned to the family. The family supervisor guides the child and assists the parent(s) in solving parenting problems. The family supervisor has the task of executing the family supervision order. The family supervisor must make sure that the parenting or education problems that threaten the child’s development are solved. The family supervisor counsels and supports the parent(s) and the child. The family supervisor also gets assistance to the family started. If necessary, the family supervisor provides instructions that the parent(s) and the child must follow.
