Parents who are unable to pay the parental contribution can apply for compensation (child place subsidy) for the parental contribution. The Public Entity determines the conditions, e.g. the income level at which a parent is entitled to this subsidy. The RCN unit SZW pays the childcare subsidy directly to childcare organisations on behalf of the Public Entity.
Who is doing what?
- Parents apply for the child place subsidy with the Public Entity. The Public Entity determines whether a parent is entitled to the child place subsidy. The parent(s) informs the childcare organisation whether their application has been approved.
- The childcare organisation indicates in the application for the childcare compensation per child whether child place subsidy applies. Use the application form for the childcare compensation of the SZW Unit of the RCN for this.
- The SZW Unit of the RCN pays the child place subsidy to you in advance on a quarterly basis. You will receive a letter with the amount about this.
Child place subsidy in the second quarter of 2026
Due to the new Law and the new payment process, the payment of the child place subsidy of the second quarter is later than you are used to. We expect you to receive the payment at the latest on the 1st of July with retroactive effect from April.
