Change in application for loss of wages for employers
From the 8th of January 2024, the process of reporting absenteeism and applying for loss of wages during sickness, pregnancy or an accident via MijnCN.nl has changed for employers. The application process has been made more efficient and payment will be made through the Belastingdienst CN.
If an employer is reporting an employee sick for the first time or if the employer is reporting a change in the salary of known employees, the employer should immediately upload a payslip to the portal. In this way the employer can be sure that the application for loss of wages is processed quickly and correctly. It also enables the SZW Unit of the RCN to demonstrate the legitimacy of benefits provided to supervisory authorities.
Employers do not need to re-enter personnel details for employees who have already been reported sick before. However, it is still important that employers check the details and especially the telephone number of (sick) employees, so that the insurance doctor can contact them.
From the 8th of January 2024, the loss of wages benefit will be paid via the payment system of the Belastingdienst Caribisch Nederland. The loss of wages that is paid will not be set off against any outstanding tax debts. For questions about payments, employers can simply contact the SZW Unit of the RCN.
