ACM publishes method for setting tariffs

The Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (Autoriteit Consument & Markt, ACM) has published the method it will use in the coming six years to annually set the maximum tariffs for the production and distribution of electricity and drinking water.

ACM publiceert maximumtarieven 2019 voor elektriciteit Saba

This method builds on the current method, which is valid for the years 2017-2019. This way the ACM continues to set maximum tariffs based on the actual costs for the production and distribution of electricity and drinking water on the islands, while considering the effectiveness of these costs.

For some years now the ACM has been monitoring the enforcement of legislation on electricity, drinking water, telecommunications and post.

Henk Don, ACM board member: “We have gained a considerable amount of knowledge and experience with tariff regulation on the islands over the past few years. We were able to use this knowledge and experience well for the new regulatory period. This is how we contribute to a reliable, sustainable and affordable supply of drinking water and energy.”
