Information session for the hotel, restaurant and catering industry
Thursday October 26th, 2017 the Labour Inspection will organise an information evening for companies in the hotel, restaurant and catering industry, also known as horeca.
The information evening is intended to inform employers and employees about the ‘Horeca’ inspection project. Apart from an introduction by the Labour Inspection, experts will make a contribution regarding fire safety and physical strain in the hotel, restaurant and catering industry.
The ‘Horeca’ inspection project will be implemented in the Caribbean Netherlands as of November 2017 and will continue until May 1st, 2018. The Labour Inspection ensures that the rules regarding labour are observed. The Arbeidsveiligheidswet BES [BES Occupational Safety Act] is most important. The Arbeidsveiligheidwet BES stipulates the rules regarding occupational safety and health. Furthermore, the working hours and rest times also play an important role, these have been laid down in the Arbeidswet 2000 BES [BES 2000 Labour Law]. The Labour Inspection also monitors compliance with the Wet minimumloon BES [BES Minimum Wage Act], the Wet arbeid vreemdelingen BES [BES Labour Law Foreigners] and the Vakantiewet BES [BES Holiday Entitlement Law].
The session will take place at the Courtyard Marriott Bonaire. Entry starts at 18:00 hours. The programme will start at exactly 6:30 PM and ends at 8:30 PM. Afterwards you will have the opportunity to chat with others present. The ‘horeca’ companies known to the Labour Inspection have received an invitation. Representatives of other companies in the industry are also most welcome to attend.
In order to organise the information evening properly, registration is required. Registration as a participant is possible until Monday October 23rd at the latest via Arbeidsinspectie@RijksdienstCN.com or via telephone number 715-8888.
