Support from a confidential adviser

Young people and parents can be assisted during a council investigation by someone they trust. A confidential adviser can be, for instance, a family member, friend, lawyer or social worker. A confidential adviser may not act on behalf of the young person or parents and he or she is not allowed to do anything without their permission. The employee of the Guardianship Council CN may refuse a confidential adviser if he or she disrupts the investigation.
