First step towards improvement housing SGB

Last Friday was the official opening of the gymnasiums of the Scholengemeenschap Bonaire. This happened under the watchful eye of Mr. Oleana (department head RCN-OCW), Mr. Cecilia (OLB, commissioner S & Z) and Dhr. Van Efferink (general director SGB). The gyms were completed and came into use by the school on October 20th, 2017.

With this project, the first step has been taken towards improving new housing of the SGB. Three housing projects for the SGB are all ready to go:

  1. Expansion Liseo on the Kaya Amsterdam, so that the Mavo, Havo and VWO can be accommodated here. This extension will be put into use in the school year 2018-2019.
  2. New construction of the MBO will be put into operation mid 2021/2022.
  3. New construction of the VMBO and “Speciale Leerplaatsen” will be put into use in the middle of 2022.

The new master plan for the SGB has a clear and well-organized seperation  of target groups. Each target group has its own building.

Four projects

These four projects for the SGB are part of the educational housing plan for Bonaire, which is jointly financed by the Public Entity Bonaire and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (OCW). On behalf of OCW, The Central Government Real Estate Agency coordinates the implementation of the various projects which are part of this plan.

The gyms are designed by Streefkerk Architects & Consultants, in collaboration with DMV Architecten. VOF Haafkes Bonaire realized the gyms. The architect of Liseo and MBO is  Jacobs Architekten in collaboration with atelier PRO. VOF Haafkes Bonaire is working on the realization of Liseo.
