Kibrahacha
The training and professionalisation of teachers is the joint responsibility of teacher training institutions and school boards. This is why the Kibrahacha Partnership was set up in 2020. Its participants are, on the one hand, the teacher training institutions and, on the other hand, the participating training schools on Bonaire, Curaçao and Aruba.
The guiding principle of Kibrahacha is that learning in practice is just as important as acquiring professional and educational (theoretical) knowledge. Proper coordination between theory and practice will prepare trainee teachers more effectively for their profession. Learning how to teach a school class in practice, therefore makes up half of the training programme, which is now being implemented at 16 affiliated training schools on the three ABC islands of the Leeward Antilles.
