Pharmaceutical care

Pharmaceutical care involves the supply and administration of medicinal products.

The health insurance covers medicinal products prescribed by a physician, dentist or obstetrician. The pharmaceutical care also includes advice and guidance from pharmacists, dietary preparations in certain medical instances, and flu vaccinations. In principle, medicinal products are prescribed by their generic name.

Female insured persons are entitled to reimbursement for the following contraceptives: (hormone) coil, hormone implant, and pessary. As well as emergency contraception; the morning-after pill.

Medicinal products that are freely available (without a prescription) are not reimbursed, even if you have a prescription.
