The Senior Business Operations Adviser offers users advice on the vast area of business operations and leads projects aimed at implementing improvements in this area. Actions are geared to the needs of users in relation to the SSO CN's services and performance of duties. As an experienced adviser for the Relations, Advice and Projects department, he/she focusses on the business operations area and advises the organisation proactively on all aspects relating to users, services and products.

As Senior Business Operations Officer

  • You will be the owner of the products and services catalogue (PDC)
  • You will be the secretary of the Table of Users and as such the central figure for the users of the SSO CN organisation
  • You will conclude agreements in SLAs and  create consensus
  • You will prepare the implementation policy and develop improvements in the SSO CN service provision to customers within the RCN organisation
  • You will offer advice in the area of processes, lean management, quality management and you will handle user complaints
  • You will act as the project leader of broad, complex business operations projects. These projects cover several topics affecting customers of the RCN organisation
  • You will be project leader and therefore responsible for the project results, including the progress regarding budgets and communications and you will create consensus
  • You will be responsible for evaluations and reports


The SSO CN is a shared service organisation and takes care of the business operations and support in the area of Personnel and Organisation (P&O), Procurement, Facility Management, ICT, Finance and Communications for all government departments operating in the Caribbean Netherlands. The advisory capacity in all areas of business operations regarding the Central Government departments of the Caribbean Netherlands falls under the responsibility of the Relations, Advice and Projects (RAP) department within the SSO. This way there is a clear separation between advice and implementation. SSO CN is an organisation in transition.

Job requirements

  • You have completed an HBO (higher vocational training) course, preferably in the field of business operations
  • You have at least two years of relevant work experience in a position in the area of relationship management and business operations
  • You are experienced in analysing developments and in preparing advisory memoranda
  • You have experience with interdepartmental and/or multidisciplinary collaborations
  • You have a certain amount of experience in directing an advisory process and/or a small team, and in leading and organising meetings
  • You have customer handling skills, you pay attention and connect the customer needs to the product range as described in the PDC
  • You have good communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • You are analytical, creative, you show situation awareness and you possess organisation sensitivity
  • You have the power of persuasion and you are a good networker.
  • You are not afraid to take responsibility, you offer input and you act proactively and decisively
  • In the event of equal qualifications, preference will be given to candidates who have their roots in Bonaire or who come from the Caribbean Region

What we offer

  • A salary in line with the market, in initial salary scale 11 and job salary scale 12 between a minimum of $3,429.00 and a maximum of $5,056.00 per month based on a work week of 39.5 hours. A pay grade based on knowledge and experience
  • A ‘thirteenth month’ (end-of-year bonus) of 8.33% at least equalling $1,750.00
  • A holiday pay of 8.33% of the remuneration
  • A proper pension plan administered by PCN

  • A temporary appointment of one year with the prospect of a permanent appointment, based on BES law, good performance and a positive appraisal
