Job description

As a Front Office (ICT) Officer, you are the first point of contact for questions relating to ICT services and you register user requirements, information requests, error messages, and complaints.

Job responsibilities

  • You receive, register, and handle within standard time (breakdown) notifications that come in via the Front Office (telephone, email, notification system);
  • You contribute to the management of applications and systems;
  • You provide (support during) installation and configuration of applications and systems;
  • You prepare/ maintain work instructions for common technical problems;
  • You are an intermediary between users and back office / suppliers;
  • You signal system usage irregularities and hardware malfunctions and solve them or have them solved;
  • You keep track of the progress of the handling of notifications ports and you perform the relevant administration.

The organisation

The Rijksdienst Caribisch Nederland (RCN) is the link between the executive services of the Ministries present on the islands of Bonaire, St. Eustatius, and Saba. Each Ministry is itself substantively responsible for the introduction and implementation of policy of the respective Ministry. SSO CN is a shared service organisation and provides business operations and support in the areas of Human Resources Management (HRM), Procurement, Facility Management, ICT, Finance, and Communications for all active departments in the Caribbean Netherlands.

The department
The Front Office (FO) receives all requests for support and notifications from services and departments. Frequently asked questions and notifications are immediately dealt with by employees of the Front Office. For more complex requests for help, the Front Office calls in the appropriate department and monitors the progress and customer satisfaction in dealing with them. This function has a number of specific knowledge areas, namely ICT, Facility Management (FAZA), Procurement / Finance, and Human Resources.

Job requirements

  • You completed training at level 4 of Senior Secondary Vocational Education (MBO4) (preferably in ICT) or your professional and intellectual ability is demonstrably at the level of Senior Secondary Vocational Education (MBO);
  • You have knowledge of service process and ERP systems to be used;
  • You are familiar with the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and support of Windows 7 / 10 Client is preferred;
  • You have knowledge of ICT applications including Windows (PC and server) and AD (Active Directory) is preferred;
  • ITIL Foundation certificate is preferred;
  • CompTIA A+ certificate or comparable ICT certificate is preferred;
  • Knowledge of and experience with working in TOPDesk is preferred;

What do we offer?

  • An appointment in accordance with the Rechtspositiebesluit ambtenaren BES (Legal Status Decree on Civil Servants BES);
  • A competitive salary in initial salary scale 6 and job salary scale 7, monthly of at least $ 2,100.00 and at most $ 3,240.00, in case of a 36-hour working week. Assignment to a pay scale based on knowledge and experience;
  • Holiday pay (8.33% of remuneration);
  • A thirteenth month (8.33% of the salary, with a gross minimum of $ 1,750.00);
  • A pension provision placed with Pensioenfonds Caribisch Nederland (PCN);
  • 168 holiday hours for a working week of 36 hours per week.
  • A temporary appointment of one year with the prospect of a permanent appointment for good performance and a positive assessment result;
  • A removal scheme for candidates who respond from outside the island.

  • The salary is in US dollars which is the official currency in the Caribbean Netherlands;
  • The Caribbean Netherlands has its own tax regulations. Income above the tax-free allowance ($ 20,424.00 in 2024) will be taxed at a rate of 30.4% in payroll tax;
  • Participation in the pension fund is mandatory, including a personal contribution to it;
  • You are or will become a resident of the Caribbean Netherlands.
