Job description
As a Front Office Employee (Mijn CN), you are the first point of contact for service-related questions relating to the Mijn CN Portal and you register user requests, information questions, error reports, and complaints.
Job responsibilities
- You perform reception duties such as receiving visitors and you perform a counter function
- You register and provide keys and access passes;
- You receive, register, and process incoming questions within standard time. These questions can be received via the counter, telephone, email or the ticket system. You also process the mail;
- You provide first-line support for facility-related issues;
- You assess applications based on content and forward them to the correct department, monitor progress and check whether the application has been processed on time;
- You provide information and clarify questions asked by users;
- You support and instruct users in using the Mijn CN Portaal
- You spot any bottlenecks in a timely fashion and discuss them with the Senior Front Office Employee or your manager;
The organisation
The Rijksdienst Caribisch Nederland (RCN) is the link between the executive departments of Ministries present on the islands of Bonaire, St. Eustatius, and Saba. Each Ministry is itself substantively responsible for the implementation and execution of the policy of its relevant Ministry. SSO CN is a shared service organisation and provides business operations and support in the areas of Human Resources Management (HRM), Procurement, Facility Management, ICT, Finance, and Communication for all active departments in the Caribbean Netherlands.
The department
The Front Office (FO) receives all requests for assistance and reports from services and departments. Common questions and reports are immediately taken up by employees of the Front Office. For more complex requests for assistance, the Front Office calls in the appropriate department and monitors the progress and customer satisfaction in the handling process. This function has a number of specific knowledge areas, namely ICT, Facility Management (FAZA), Procurement/Finance, and Human Resources.

Job requirements
- You have completed training at level 3 of Senior Secondary Vocational Education (MBO) or your intellectual and professional level is demonstrably at level 3 of Senior Secondary Vocational Education (MBO);
- You have knowledge of the systems of service processes and ERP systems to be used;
- You have experience in a service-oriented environment;
- You have oral and written command of Dutch and English, Spanish and Papiamento is preferred;
- Knowledge of and experience with working in TOPDesk and/or Planon is preferred;
- Knowledge and experience with Mijn CN Portaal is preferred.
What do we offer?
- An appointment in accordance with the Rechtspositiebesluit ambtenaren BES (Legal Status Decree on Civil Servants BES);
- Temporary employment for 1 year
- A competitive salary in initial salary scale 5 and job salary scale 6 monthly of at least $ 1,860.00 and at most $ 2,940.00 in case of a 36-hour working week. Assignment to a pay scale based on knowledge and experience;
- Holiday pay (8.33% of remuneration);
- A thirteenth month (8.33% of the salary, with a gross minimum of $ 1,750.00);
- A pension provision placed with Pensioenfonds Caribisch Nederland (PCN);
- 168 holiday hours for a working week of 36 hours per week.
Procedure
An assessment, case and/or reference check may be part of the procedure. This vacancy will be opened simultaneously internally and externally, taking the following order into account in the selection:

Appointment requirements
- A Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG);
- A medical examination for admission to the pension fund;
- Dutch citizenship.
Good to know for those interested outside the Caribbean Netherlands
- The salary is in US dollars which is the official currency in the Caribbean Netherlands;
- The Caribbean Netherlands has its own tax regulations. Income above the tax-free allowance ($ 20,242.00 in 2024) will be taxed at a rate of 30.4% in payroll tax;
- Participation in the pension fund is mandatory, including a personal contribution to it;
- You are or will become a resident of the Caribbean Netherlands.
