The organisation
The Rijksdienst Caribisch Nederland (RCN) is the link between the executive services of the Ministries present on the islands of Bonaire, St. Eustatius, and Saba. Each Ministry is itself substantively responsible for the introduction and implementation of policies of its own Ministry. SSO CN is a shared service organisation and provides business operations and support in the areas of Human Resources Management (HRM), Procurement, Facility Management, ICT, Finance, and Communication for all active departments in the Caribbean Netherlands.
The department
The Facilities Department (FAZA) of the SSO is responsible for the coordination and facilitation of various support services and provisions within government buildings. The objective of this department is to create an efficient and effective working environment, so that staff can focus on their core tasks.
Job description
As a FAZA/DIV (Records and Information Management) Officer, you are responsible for the post and digital and analogue archiving of documents.
You act in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations regarding the storage of documents in both digital and analogue environments. In this context, you are dealing with a wide variety of users and structures in accordance with rules and regulations.
Job responsibilities
- You grant users permission to view a digital file;
- You make the analogue file available to users;
- You are responsible for the postal, delivery and collection services for the departments that are part of the Rijksdienst Caribisch Nederland;
- You manage the analogue and digital archives;
- You digitise documents for the benefit of our users;
- You ensure that the destruction procedure is followed and carry it out in accordance with the guidelines.
Job requirements

You completed an SOD 1 training at the level of Senior Secondary Vocational Education (MBO) or your professional and intellectual ability is at the level of Senior Secondary Vocational Education (MBO) (or you are willing to follow the SOD 1 training);

You are proficient in MS Office;

You have command of Dutch; command of Papiamento and English is preferred.

What do we offer?

An appointment in conformity with the Rechstpositiebesluit Ambtenaren BES (BES Legal Status of Civil Servants Decree);

A salary in line with the market, in initial salary scale 5 and job salary scale 6 from a minimum of $2.038,- and a maximum of $3.149,- based on a work week of 36 hours. A pay grade based on knowledge and experience;

A holiday pay (8.33% of the annual income);

A13th month (8.33% of the annual income);

Vitality allowance;

A pension plan administered by Pensioenfonds Caribisch Nederland (PCN);

182 holiday hours based on a work week of 36 hours;

A temporary appointment of one year with the prospect of a permanent appointment in case of good performance and a positive appraisal;

A relocation scheme for applicants not living in the island.

The salary is paid in American dollars, the official currency in the Caribbean Netherlands;

The Caribbean Netherlands has its own tax regulations. Income above the tax-free allowance $21,956 in 2026 is taxed at 29.4% in the first bracket (up to an income of $53,198). A tax rate of 38.4% applies to the second bracket;
