The organisation
Belastingdienst Caribisch Nederland (B/CN) is responsible for the implementation of tax legislation and customs duties in the Public Entities of Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba. As part of the Dutch Belastingdienst, B/CN is responsible for the lawful, efficient and customer-oriented levying and collection of central government taxes, including the algemene bestedingsbelasting (general expenditure tax), loonbelasting (payroll tax), inkomstenbelasting (income tax), vastgoedbelasting (property tax), overdrachtsbelasting (transfer tax), kansspelbelasting (gambling tax) and opbrengstbelasting (revenue tax).
Job description
As a Management Assistant, you are an indispensable source of support and a vital link for our Director and Deputy Director. You ensure that everything runs smoothly by putting your organisational and communication skills to good use. From the management of diaries to the preparation of meetings and the handling of confidential information – you take care of it all with flair and precision.

Job responsibilities
- Manage communications: You are responsible for dealing with incoming and outgoing communications by telephone, email and post, and you ensure that the Director and Deputy Director are always kept informed.
- Receive visitors: You welcome visitors with a smile and act as the point of contact for security, so that the Director and Deputy Director can work without any worries.
- Diaries and meetings: You manage the diaries of the Director and the Deputy Director. You tackle action points proactively and ensure that everything runs smoothly.
- Documents and reports: You draft accurate and professional letters, reports and emails.
- Facilities tasks: You provide facilities support through inventory management and placing orders for office supplies. Your efforts keep the workplace efficient and well-organised.
- Plan business trips: You organise and plan business trips for members of the Management Team, so that they can focus on their core duties without having to worry about logistics. In addition, you assist the members of the Management Team with the organisation of business trips for the employees.
- Important information: You ensure that the Management Team is kept informed in good time of any important information that affects their work.
- Car fleet management: You keep an eye on the car fleet across the three islands, you organise maintenance and planning, and you ensure everything is kept in good condition.
- You act as the first point of contact for the Shared Service Organisation (SSO) for Facilities Management and for the Central Government Real Estate Agency (RVB) in relation to accommodation.
- You coordinate and provide support in relation to staff matters, such as farewell gatherings and celebrations marking service anniversaries. In this role, you will ensure that tasks are carried out correctly in accordance with the applicable regulations, agreements and established policy.
Job requirements
- Diploma at level 4 of Senior Secondary Vocational Education (MBO4) in a relevant curriculum;
- At least three years of experience in a similar role;
- Excellent command of MS Office and office automation systems;
- Experience with administrative and operational procedures;
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability both to work in a systematic and forward-thinking manner and to deal with ad hoc matters quickly and effectively;
- Excellent command of the Dutch language and, preferably, additional language skills and/or proficiency.

What do we offer?
- An appointment in conformity with the Rechstpositiebesluit Ambtenaren BES (BES Legal Status of Civil Servants Decree);
- A salary in line with the market, in initial salary scale 6 and job salary scale 7 from a minimum of $2.282,- and a maximum of $3.470,- based on a work week of 36 hours. A pay grade based on knowledge and experience;
- A holiday pay (8.33% of the annual income);
- A13th month (8.33% of the annual income);
- Vitality allowance;
- A pension plan administered by Pensioenfonds Caribisch Nederland (PCN);
- 182 holiday hours based on a work week of 36 hours;
- A temporary appointment of one year with the prospect of a permanent appointment in case of good performance and a positive appraisal;
- A relocation scheme for applicants not living in the island.

- The salary is paid in American dollars, the official currency in the Caribbean Netherlands;
- The Caribbean Netherlands has its own tax regulations. Income above the tax-free allowance $21,956 in 2026 is taxed at 29.4% in the first bracket (up to an income of $53,198). A tax rate of 38.4% applies to the second bracket;
- You are or will become a resident of the Caribbean Netherlands.
