MBO| Bonaire | Temporary | 36 hours | P&O2023_01_004 | Closing date: 5th of February, 2023

For the duration of one year, with a view to renewal

Job description

As of the 10th of October 2010, Belastingdienst Caribisch Nederland (B/CN) takes care of tax collection and collection of claims for the Public Entity Bonaire (OLB). The OLB imposes tax assessments and conducts substantive checks. B/CN is only responsible for tax collection and collection of claims.
The funds are transferred to the OLB after collection by the B/CN.

To facilitate matters, we are looking for a new Collections employee to expand our team, initially temporarily. In this position, you are responsible for independently keeping track of all collection aspects of a group of tax debtors with claims from the OLB for both companies and individuals. You work on simple collection items with a small outstanding amount. Collection includes taking decisions within established principles. There is also regular coordination with the OLB if, for example, an objection has been lodged.

In order to accomplish all this, insight into the customer’s situation is required. You, therefore, have regular customer contact with tax debtors and/or the accountant/bookkeeper. In the event of more serious collection measures and liability claims, the strategy is determined in consultation with the recipient within the B/CN. You then contact OLB and make administrative comparisons.

  • You check outstanding items based on available information in the systems;
  • You conclude payment arrangements with customers;
  • You assess requests for deferral and draw up the decisions;
  • You check payments;
  • You consult with the OLB and internal departments regarding tax resources;
  • You handle wage and rent claims;
  • You give instructions for attachments to be levied;
  • You handle requests from private and business customers;
  • You are involved in processing various information lists;
  • You perform helpdesk activities;
  • You accept documents and assess them on various points;
  • You enter mutations into the system;
  • You strive for optimal service to the customer;
  • You answer various questions by talking to customers personally or by email and telephone.

Belastingdienst Caribisch Nederland (B/CN) is part of the Dutch Belastingdienst.

With more than 110 employees, B/CN is responsible for the levying, supervision and collection of national taxes and the implementation of tax, customs, and excise legislation within the islands of Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba. The legislation and regulations differ from those in the European Netherlands and other Caribbean parts of the Kingdom. Offices are located on all three islands.
