The new round of Museum Grants is now open for applications. This programme facilitates research that contributes to strengthening the scientific function of museums. Museum employees can apply for research grants focused on research by, about, and for museums.
Online information session 10 March
On Tuesday, 10 March 2026, NWO will organise an information session about the new round of the Call for Museum Grants. During this online meeting, participants will receive more information about the call and the submission process. There will also be ample opportunity to ask questions.
About the Call
In the Museum Grants programme, museum employees can apply for grants for short-term in-depth scientific research related to the museum or its collection. The results must benefit museum research practice and be recorded in an open access publication. Employees of a museum may act as the main applicant. Each application must involve one researcher affiliated with a research organisation as a supervisor of the research.
The Museum Grants programme not only strengthens the position of museum research within the scientific domain but also promotes collaboration and knowledge sharing between museums and research institutions.
