From Monday 12 January to Friday 6 February 2026, the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee (KMar) will be extra visible on the public roads of Bonaire. This is due to a driving skills training. During this training period, the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee will regularly use lights and sirens.
Under the supervision of a certified instructor, KMar personnel receive training and are assessed on how quickly and, above all, how safely they can respond and travel in (emergency) situations. The training sessions take place on weekdays between 8am and 5pm.
The Royal Netherlands Marechaussee asks residents and road users of Bonaire to take these training activities into account and to act as usual when encountering optical and audible signals from emergency and rescue services.
