As of 16 August 2026, Thammy Albertsz has been appointed as the new Chief Commander of the Caribbean Netherlands Fire Department (BKCN).

With her experience within the organization and her strong commitment to the BKCN, Albertsz is dedicated to building a future-proof and professional fire department.
The BKCN wishes Thammy Albertsz every success in her new role as Chief Commander.
With Albertsz’s appointment, the BKCN is also saying goodbye to Chief Commander Thijs Verheul.
During his five-year term, Verheul made an important contribution to the continued professionalization of the department.
