Curvin George new Program Manager of Healthcare Capacity for the Caribbean parts of the Netherlands
Effective the 1st of November, Curvin George will begin his role as Program Manager of Healthcare Capacity in the Caribbean parts of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (Curaçao, Aruba, Sint Maarten, and the Caribbean Netherlands). With this move, he steps down from his current position as Head of Healthcare at ZJCN.
The theme of Healthcare Capacity is one of the biggest challenges for the coming years. The Health Systems Review (2024) confirms that urgent action is needed to address the growing shortage of healthcare personnel. This involves both entry opportunities for students enrolling in vocational and university-level healthcare programs (HBO and WO) within the Caribbean parts of the Netherlands, as well as the need to retain and bring back graduates to the islands—by providing a work environment where they feel supported and valued.
Curvin George has been employed by the Rijksdienst Caribisch Nederland (RCN) since October 10, 2010. Previously, George served as the Director of the Guardianship Council and subsequently as the Director of Youth Care. For the past five years, his role as Head of Healthcare involved responsibility for the Healthcare and Service Provision dossier (healthcare insurance) at ZJCN, which is part of VWS.
