Week against Child Abuse with theme ‘My body, my voice’
During the Week Against Child Abuse, from the 17th to the 21st of November, Care and Youth Caribisch Nederland (ZJCN) is organizing a campaign and activities together with its partners: Public Entity Bonaire (OLB), Sentro Akseso Boneiru, ZW-groep, Guardianship Council and Expertisecenter Onderwijs Zorg (EOZ).
Theme
Every year, they raise awareness about various issues related to domestic violence and child abuse. Through different activities, talk shows, and accessible conversations with the public, they aim to increase awareness. The theme of this year is "My Body, My Voice," focusing on sexual abuse, the taboos surrounding it in society, and how we can break these together.
Activities
The Week Against Child Abuse started with a networking event where professionals gather to discuss the central themes. Additionally, there will be a special visit from Jandino Asporaat, who will lead the conversation as a guest speaker and invite participants to an open dialogue.
On Saturday, November 22, there will be a bus tour through various neighborhoods. The bus, recognizable by the ZJCN banner, invites residents to engage in accessible conversations and ask questions about these important issues.
