Stronger together: JICN, SRCN and Plenchi di Trabou support the step towards work
The Correctional Institution Caribbean Netherlands (JICN), Plenchi di Trabou, and the Stichting Reclassering Caribisch Nederland have signed renewed cooperation agreements. This agreement strengthen their collaboration in the area of employment guidance and support.
By properly guiding (former) detainees towards employment, the risk of reoffending is reduced and the chances of a successful reintegration into society are increased. Work provides structure, self-worth, and perspective.
Within JICN, the case managers and the Reintegration Centre (RIC) play a crucial role. The RIC helps detainees prepare for their return to society, for example through work or education.
Job coaches from Plenchi di Trabou and probation officers are also actively involved. By improving collaboration, they can support individuals earlier and more effectively – from detention through to post-release.
“Only by working together can we truly help (former) detainees find their place in society again,” the three organizations state jointly.
