Opening Cruyff Court

The Cruyff Court provides a unique and safe environment for people with disabilities to engage in sports, challenge themselves physically, and be part of the community. This project is the result of a close collaboration between the Cruyff Foundation, the local government of Bonaire, and FKPD, with the goal of improving access to sports and physical activity for people with disabilities.

Nina den Heyer, Commissioner for Society & Care, Bonaire:

"The opening of this Cruyff Court is a moment of pride for our community. It not only provides a space for sports and physical activity but also strengthens the sense of connection and equality. I am pleased that, together with VWS, the Cruyff Foundation, and FKPD, we have been able to bring this facility to life."

Vincent Karremans, State Secretary for Youth, Prevention & Sports:

"Sports and physical activity are essential. We are built for it. It’s fun, energizing, and keeps you fit—both physically and mentally. Learning at a young age lasts a lifetime, so let’s encourage everyone, young and old, to get moving. This includes those who face challenges, such as a disability. My motto is: get everyone off the couch. With this wonderful new Cruyff Court on Bonaire, many people will find it easier to start moving today."
