Shirley Cecilia becomes new committee member of CBP BES

Ms. Shirley Cecilia, MSc, Eng., has built extensive expertise. As a project leader, she established the Data Protection Authority in Curaçao. Additionally, she served as project leader for the National Registration System and as an advisor to the Ministry of Governance, Planning, and Public Service.

In the past, she also established the ICT department of the National Laboratory, which is now called ADC. Her broad knowledge in information technology and project management provides a valuable addition, enriched by a wealth of knowledge and experience.

CBP BES is an independent regulatory authority established by Royal Decree. Its task is to ensure that personal data processing complies with the Personal Data Protection Law BES (Wbp BES). Furthermore, CBP BES oversees the processing of police data (Wpg) and the basic registries of personal data in Bonaire, Sint Eustatius, and Saba (Wba BES).
