John Soliano sworn in as Governor of Bonaire
On the recommendation of the State Secretary for Kingdom Relations and Digitalization, John Soliano has been appointed as Governor of the public body of Bonaire as of August 1, 2024.
Acting Kingdom Representative Jan Helmond swore him in on August 3 during a ceremony of the Island Council, in the presence of invited guests and family.
Acting Kingdom Representative Jan Helmond indicated during the swearing-in ceremony that he was looking forward to a good cooperation with the new Governor and wished the new Governor "much wisdom, patience, humor and above all good health to fulfill this difficult task with energy."
Afterwards, the residents of Bonaire had the opportunity to congratulate the Governor.
