Mrs. Hassell appointed acting Island Governor of St. Eustatius
Mrs. Sharon Hassell was appointed and sworn in as Acting Island Governor of St. Eustatius by Acting Kingdom Representative Mr. Jan Helmond on April 10th.
Mrs. Sharon Christina Hassell (58), is an island child. She was born and raised on St. Eustatius. Working as Branch Manager at Maduro & Curiels Bank on St. Eustatius since 2022. Before that, she was Branch Manager Windward Island Bank Ltd on St. Eustatius. Because of her great social involvement, she knows the island and has an eye for what is happening on the island.
Appointment
Acting Kingdom Representative Jan Helmond, after consultation with the Island Council, appointed Mrs. Hassell as Acting Island Governor, for the period of 1 year. The procedure of taking the oath has taken place in the office of the Island Governor on St. Eustatius. As Acting Island Governor, Mrs. Hassell will assume office in the absence of the Island Governor, Ms. Alida Francis, with all legal powers associated with the office of Island Governor. This will ensure the continuity of the office of the Island Governor.
Acting Kingdom Representative Jan Helmond expressed his confidence with the words;
