Working visit of the Parliamentary Committee KOREL to the Caribbean part of the Kingdom

A delegation of thirteen members of the Parliamentary Committee on Kingdom Relations (KOREL) will be making working visits to the Caribbean part of the Kingdom from Friday the 25th of February 2022 till Sunday the 6th of March 2022. The delegation will visit the Caribbean countries within the Kingdom, Aruba, Curaçao and Sint Maarten, as well as the Caribbean islands of Saba, Sint Eustatius and Bonaire, which are public entities which forms part of the country of the Netherlands. The delegation is led by the Chairman of the Kingdom Relations Committee, Paul Rosenmöller.

Bonaire

The delegation wants to be informed by its Caribbean partners on matters of importance to the islands. The talks will serve to deepen the senators' understanding of the legislative dossiers the Senate is dealing with or will deal with and also aim to strengthen relations within the Kingdom. The working visit also offers the spokespersons of medium-sized and smaller political groups in the Senate the opportunity to get to know the Caribbean part of the Kingdom personally, since they are usually not part of the States General-delegation of members of the Senate and the House of Representatives to the bi-annual Interparliamentary Kingdom Consultation (IPKO).

The members of the Senate will meet on the islands with, among others, the Governors and Island Governors, governments of the countries, representatives of the people, employers' and employees' organisations, school boards, representatives of the health care sector, entrepreneurs, persons and organisations from the law enforcement chain, consumer organisations, youngsters and others.

The delegation will visit successively: St. Maarten (25-26 February), Saba (27-28 February), St. Eustatius (28 February-1 March), Bonaire (2-3 March), Curaçao (3-4 March) and Aruba (4-5 March).
