First meetings Centraal Dialoog Bonaire a fact
Centraal Dialoog Bonaire (CD) was installed at the end of 2018 as a consultative body. This body consists of representatives from OLB, USIBO, employers (BBE, BONHATA, BHG) and the Chamber of Commerce and is headed by the Lieutenant Governor in the capacity of chairman and a technical chairman.
Centraal Dialoog Bonaire wants to develop support for a policy aimed at a socially, economically and ecologically sustainable Bonaire. The first meetings were held on January 31st and February 5th during which two declarations have been established: the Declaration on the Administrative Agreement 2018-2022 and the Declaration on the use of the ‘wage margin’ as a result of the premium reduction for employers for 2019.
Declaration on the Administrative Agreement 2018-2022
Centraal Dialoog Bonaire respects the parties’ own responsibilities for the implementation of the Administrative Agreement. At the same time, some issues from this agreement also affect the activities of parties in Centraal Dialoog Bonaire. That is why Centraal Dialoog Bonaire is gladly involved in the implementation of certain parts of the Administrative Agreement. This mainly concerns job center / job placement, childcare, social housing and general socio-economic development.
Declaration on the use of the ‘wage margin’ as a result of the premium reduction for employers for 2019
This states that employers want to use the wage margin, resulting from the premium reduction, for improved purchasing power. Each company can decide for itself how it does this, as long as it is business economically justified.
It is also unanimously concluded that an integrated policy aimed at poverty reduction is of great importance. This will be further discussed in Centraal Dialoog Bonaire. Furthermore the CD has decided to send a letter to the State Secretary of SZW regarding the importance of a good social minimum, which corresponds to the minimum necessary costs of living.
The next meeting of Centraal Dialoog Bonaire is scheduled for upcoming April 15th.
