Fraud with TWV application addressed
The head of the RCN-unit SZW has decided that for the period of 1 year, no work permit will be issued to companies to which two specific persons (employers) are connected on Bonaire. This, because falsified documents from their companies have been submitted with previous work permit applications and they have repeatedly failed to comply with the applicable legislation.
In order to protect the local labor market, employers in the Caribbean Netherlands have to recruit local staff. If they do not succeed despite efforts, they can employ a foreign employee under conditions by means of a work permit. In addition to the importance of protecting the local labor market, the SZW unit also has an eye for the situation of the employers. In order to do this properly it is important that fraudulent practices are tackled. The decision of the SZW unit is independent of any criminal law approach.
