ILT's enforcement actions at BOPEC (update 1)
On Friday, January 5, BOPEC responded to the intention of the Inspectie Leefomgeving en Transport (ILT).
The intention of the ILT concerns the requirement to empty the tanks and pipelines, unless BOPEC can prove that the overdue maintenance can be eliminated and that it can rectify the violations.
The ILT will now assess with the inspection partners (Rijkswaterstaat and the Rotterdam Rijnmond Safety Region on behalf of the Caribbean Netherlands Fire Department) whether BOPEC in a written response can demonstrate that it can actually repair the shortcomings. This assessment will certainly take a few days.
