National parks

Natural parks established by island ordinance or ministerial decree, which are actively managed and large enough that the ecosystems and species in the area can survive, can be designated as a National Park. In the Caribbean Netherlands the following national parks have been designated:

Bonaire:

Saba:

St. Eustatius:

The management of these National Parks is based on management plans written based on a model developed by the Dutch Caribbean Nature Alliance (DCNA), which has been tested by the World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA).
